Purpose: To assess the current housing status, housing history, need for and use of housing and supportive services among HIV positive adults.

Housing-related item description/response options:Housing status (Section A - #1-23): Questions assessing current living situation housing status in the past 7 days, including items on tenure, housing assistance, housing conditions, and services.
Housing history (Section A - #24-29; Section C - pages 36-39): Questions assessing housing history in the past 6-months, since age 18, and ever.
Description of the original study: The Community Health Advisory & Information Network (CHAIN) Project, is an ongoing cohort study (since 1994) of a representative sample of persons living with HIV/AIDS in New York City and the northern suburban region. Conducted by researchers from Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University as part of the evaluation activities of New York City's Health and Human Services Planning Council. Its purpose is to supply systematic data from the perspective of persons living with HIV about their needs for health and human services, their encounters with the full continuum of HIV services, and their physical, mental and social well being.
