Item description/response options: Residence and homeless history are divided into two parts. Residence history consists of four semi-structured open-ended questions to be used with a housing grid which documents dates, locations, types of residence, whom the person lived with, and housing support(s) since the respondent was 18 years old. The homeless history consists of seven closed-ended questions assessing types of shelter and street sleeping arrangements for the previous four years.
Description of the original study: Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, the prevalence of HIV infection and HIV sexual and drug risk behaviors was examined among a random sample of 329 homeless women in New York City.
